Recently, WOW received a particularly interesting nail polish display stand project request. An American customer recommended his friend to WOW and said that he wanted to make a nail polish display stand, but this nail polish display rack cannot be too ordinary and needs to be attractive enough, because this acrylic nail polish rack will be placed in more than 2,000 beauty stores in North America. He has seen many cosmetics display stand cases but has not found a display solution that makes him feel bright. He heard from his friend that WOW has rich experience in the design and production of cosmetic retail displays, so he wanted us to try it.
At first, our business team provided some cosmetic display rack projects that we had done before according to the customer's requirements, trying to see if the customer had any favorite types, and we could use this as a template for innovation and design. Finally, the customer found a professional makeup display we had produced before:
This is a custom cosmetic displays that we produced for an Australian customer at the end of 2018. The number is 5,000 sets, and the main usage scenario is also a beauty store. Considering the irregularity of nail polish bottles, we chose to use the dump bin solution to let the nail polish sink in, but it will be blocked after sinking in, so WOW creatively used a transparent plastic pocket, which can not only ensure the display of nail polish products, but also ensure the visual effect. In addition, in order to make the shape unique, we adopted a tapered structure with a narrow top and a wide bottom for the cardboard support part, which gives people a slender feeling visually. This is also considering the female customer group of cosmetic products. Such a structure is easier to impress them, stimulate their desire to buy, and finally pay for the products in the cosmetic retail display stands.
The customer was very interested in this solution, but at the same time he also put forward personalized demands:
- 1. Due to the requirements of beauty stores, the cosmetic display stands cannot be fixed, and the sales area needs to be changed according to different stores and different sales times, so the cosmetic product display stands needs to be movable
- 2. The acrylic cosmetic display cannot be against the wall or other obstacles, and the display effect needs to be displayed on 4 sides, so the head sign cannot be fixed to one position
- 3. The head sign advertisement of the beauty retail display needs to be replaced every week
- 4. The single size of nail polish is 38 width*20 thickness*84mm high, and a total of 222 bottles are required, which is expected to be 14kg. It needs to be movable and the life of the entire beauty store displays needs to be at least 3 months
After clarifying the customer's personalized needs, WOW established a project docking service team, which was mainly followed up by the experienced business manager Emma, and led two senior engineers Jason and Luke to be responsible for the overall design and proofing of the project. After 2 hours of discussion and verification, the project team finally gave a solution:
The highlights of the nail polish display solution are as follows:
- 1. While retaining the overall cosmetic product display frame structure that customers like, some accessories are added to ensure that all customer needs can be met
- 2. The entire cosmetic shop display consists of four parts: 4 universal wheels + paper base support + acrylic layer pocket + A3 billboard
- 3. In the new solution, we changed the plastic layer pocket to acrylic layer pocket, mainly considering the cost, because the production of plastic layer pockets requires molds. Considering the number of customer orders, we chose to use acrylic materials to ensure light transmittance and durability while saving costs.
After seeing our acrylic nail polish rack solution introduction, the customer was very impressed by WOW's innovative consciousness and efficiency, and paid a proofing fee of US$100 that night. Our business manager also provided printed die-cutting drawings for customers to make printing files that night. After 2 days of document preparation and 1 working day of proofing, the first sample of the color nail rack display was produced:
However, we found a problem when testing the load-bearing capacity. According to the original design, the nail varnish display stand can bear 15kg without any problem, but when moving, the paper base was dented, causing the universal wheel to fail to work properly. We also told the customer the situation truthfully and proposed a new solution. We added a 10mm PVC board to the cardboard base to increase the force-bearing area to ensure that the wheels of the entire polish display rack can rotate normally when bearing 20KG. We also took the initiative to produce a white sample for testing and sent the test video to the customer.
After receiving the sample photos and videos, the customer accepted the plan changes and paid a 30% deposit for the project. After 10 days of production, WOW delivered 2,000 sets of rotating nail polish rack to the customer as scheduled.
After about 1 month of sea transportation, the customer finally received all the nail polish displays and gave a very high evaluation of WOW's performance in this project:
